Dubai Municipality, in partnership with the Artificial Intelligence Journalism for Research and Forecasting (AIJRF), has launched the world’s first initiative bringing together professionals and digital content creators in the field of safe and sustainable food. The programme, titled “Food Safety Storytellers – Food-Creative Minds,” aims to strengthen food-safety culture and reinforce Dubai’s position as a global leader in health, quality of life and sustainability.
The initiative was announced during the 19th edition of the Dubai International Food Safety Conference.

H.E Dr Naseem Rafie Acting CEO of the Environment, Health and Safety Agency at Dubai Municipality, said the initiative “reflects the vision of the UAE Government and Dubai’s long-term agenda to ensure safe food for all.”
“This platform brings together professional and media efforts to disseminate scientifically verified knowledge on food safety,” she added. “Dubai continues to play a leading role in building sustainable systems that place human health and quality of life at the forefront.”

Dr. Rafie said the initiative aligns with UAE Vision 2031 and Dubai’s strategy for building “healthy, smart and sustainable cities,” noting that global challenges surrounding food safety make collaboration between regulators, experts and content creators essential.
“Ensuring accurate scientific information reaches the community is critical to promoting safe practices across the food sector,” she said.
AI to strengthen global food-safety systems

H.E Dr. Mohamed Abdulzaher
AIJRF CEO H.E Dr. Mohamed Abdulzaher, the initiative’s strategic partner, said the programme opens new horizons for the use of artificial intelligence in supporting food-safety systems locally and globally.
“AI-powered data analysis and quality-monitoring tools enhance the ability of institutions to make faster, evidence-based decisions,” he said. “They also provide content creators with reliable tools to produce high-quality scientific material.”
Abdulzaher described the partnership between Dubai Municipality and AIJRF as “a model for knowledge-driven and innovation-based smart collaborations.”

A global framework and multi-pillar programme
The initiative — the first of its kind worldwide — establishes a framework that brings together experts, practitioners, influencers and digital creators to generate verified scientific and media content, aimed at raising public awareness of food-safety standards locally and internationally.
Its goals include:
Building an accurate knowledge base on food-safety principles
Developing professional and creator skills to produce innovative scientific content
Enhancing public awareness and supporting transparent, fair trade practices
Training over 500 professionals and content creators over three years
Empowering influencers as ambassadors of food safety
Developing new international standards using AI tools
Providing specialised training materials for farmers, students and government entities
The programme is structured around five pillars: scientific and media development, training and qualification, technology and AI applications, community engagement, and international cooperation — forming a comprehensive framework to advance global food-safety culture.
The initiative aligns with Dubai Sustainability Strategy 2030, UAE Vision 2031 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a global model for food safety, sustainability and human-centred development.
