“Artificial Intelligence Skills Camp“ A Journey to The Future At “IGCF 2023”

Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), announced organizing of the artificial intelligence skills camp “AISC”, for the first time within the activities of the 12th edition of the International Government Communication Forum 2023 “ICFG23”, in cooperation with the Artificial Intelligence Journalism for Research and Forecasting (AIJRF) ”, the leading global think tank and organization dedicated to researching, forecasting, and shaping   artificial intelligence & media, Metaverse and the advanced technologies .

The Camp is organized from September 12 to 14, in line with the objectives of the current edition of ICGF 23, which is to explore the best ways to invest resources to achieve sustainable development. The camp provides participating students with an interactive platform to learn the basics of artificial intelligence and explore the opportunities it holds, in resource management, wealth creation and enhancing Government Communication Technologies on a global scale, in addition to introducing participants to the content creation using applications and practical solutions relying on artificial intelligence in various fields.

30 students from several schools in the UAE are participating in the camp, where they receive 4 educational study materials from certified instructors in the field of artificial intelligence and Metaverse, and students get acquainted with more than 10 applications of artificial intelligence in various fields and learn the basics of this modern technology.

The camp targets the age group of 12 to 17 years of the members of Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators and the Ithmar Media Training Programme, organized by the Sharjah Press Club, affiliated to the Sharjah Government Media Office, who will have the opportunity to present the projects they designed within 4 competitions using artificial intelligence, and the winners qualify to nominate for the Sharjah Government Communication Award in the category “Best Innovation in communication”.

 

Students ‘ Interaction with The Latest Technology Tools

H.E. Alya Al Suwaidi, Director of SGMB, said: “We live in an era of rapid technological advancements, and with the future’s wealth relying on it, we aim to empower school students to become active contributors to building a sustainable and prosperous future. AISC will work to unleash their creativity, and equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to harness these futuristic technologies towards the sustainable development and effective management of  natural, human, and cultural resources”.

She added: The camp reflects the UAE’s commitment to harnessing technologies that will promote innovation and education and serve society. It contributes to establishing strategic partnerships between specialized AI entities and their beneficiaries. It will also help enhance participants’ social, cultural and economic understanding as they engage with top international AI experts and pioneers in the field.”

The Basics of Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Life

Dr Mohamed Abdulzaher, CEO of AIJRF, said: “We will be introducing students to the basics and practical applications of AI at the camp, and demonstrate how these futuristic technologies can be integrated into our daily lives and work, particularly into governments’ digital economies. This camp opens up opportunities for participants from the Arab world to explore the latest advanced technologies here, from Sharjah.”

The AISC camp is part of IGCF’s capacity-building program that also includes Leveraging Behavioral Insights for Better Resource Management organized by Behavioral Insight Team, and the Effective Communication in the Government Sector program organized by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
