Artificial Intelligence Journalism for Research and Forecasting (AIJRF), the leading institution in AI and media research, and the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions’ studies, is honored to announce that Professor  H.E Professor Abdullatif AlShamsi, President & CEO of the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), has been named as the honorary president of the Artificial Intelligence Journalism World Forum (AIJWF) in its second  edition in March 2022. Also, Prof. Ibrahim Aljarah,  AI and Big Data specialist , was chosen as the General Rapporteur of the Forum.

Dr. AlShamsi added: “AIJWF contributes to presenting ideas and experiences that support the development of the process of integrating artificial intelligence into the world of journalism, especially after the challenges faced by the media field in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, which imposed the adoption of new technologies that support flexibility, readiness and quality in performance and continuity of the work. We should note that the amazing development in artificial intelligence today calls for the need to invest this effectively in various sectors, especially universities, in order to support the creation of a more innovative and enjoyable environment and educational models for students. “

For instance, Dr. AlShamsi said: ”  analyzing big data, we can design programs and provide specialized educational services that meet the needs of the individual student according to his abilities and inclinations.”

Dr. Al Shamsi noted that all of this is in line with the objectives of the UAE’s strategy for artificial intelligence, which supports the integration of many artificial intelligence technologies in various sectors to provide innovative work models that can cope with rapidly changing globally and with high efficiency.

On the other hand, AIJRF announced the selection of Prof. Ibrahim Aljarah, Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, as General Rapporteur of the AIJWF 2022, due to his great academic and practical experience in this field, and he  
 has been listed by Clarivate Analytics as one of the Highly Cited Researchers in Computer Science in 2021.

Professor AlShamsi

Professor AlShamsi is an Emirati academician, author and educational change management leader. He is the President & CEO of the Higher Colleges of Technology, a federal education institution in the UAE and the nation’s largest higher education institution in the UAE. Professor AlShamsi received his Ph.D. from Duke University, USA in 1997 and received his master and Bachelor degrees from Boston University. He is the President & CEO for the Higher Colleges of Technology as per Federal Decree (29) for 2015.
Prior to his appointment in HCT he was the Managing Director of the Institute of Applied Technology (IAT), from 2007 to the end of 2014, where he established the Applied Technology High Schools (ATHS), the Fatima College for Health Sciences, and Abu Dhabi Polytechnic.
He started his career at UAE University as associate professor. His appointments at UAE University included the post of Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research, where he founded a University-wide Internship and Work Integrated Learning (iWIL) program.

Professor. Ibrahim Aljarah

 Ibrahim Aljarah, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Jordan, and one of the researchers who were selected by the international “Clarifict Analytics” Foundation as the most influential scientist in the field of computer science in the world for the year 2021. It has a high impact factor in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and has obtained more than from 6800 citations and 42 to the harsh coefficient, according to the classification of the American Stanford University for the years 2020 and 2021.

The surgeon specializes in artificial intelligence, deep learning algorithms, and research in big data science and computational intelligence. He holds a PhD with honors from North Dakota State University, USA in 2014.

In 2017, Al-Jarrah established, in partnership with ambitious researchers from several countries around the world, a research group specialized in Evolutionary Machine Learning (EVO-ML.com), and was awarded the “Ali Mango” award for distinguished researcher for scientific colleges for solid research last year 2020.
