Dr. Mohamed Abdulzaher: The Artificial Intelligence Journalism World Forum has provided forward-looking insights into the media and AI industry for a decade

Dr. Mohamed Abdulzaher, Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence Journalism World Forum (AIJWF), emphasized that the Artificial Intelligence Journalism World Forumhas provided proactive visions for the media industry and artificial intelligence for a decade, adding: “During the four years -previous editions- of the Artificial Intelligence Journalism World Forum, it succeeded in enhancing the importance of the role that artificial intelligence plays in the content creation industry, and presented many new scientific terms and proactive visions for both media and artificial intelligence industry for a decade (2020-2030). With the participation of dozens of universities and researchers from more than 40 countries around the world, and more than 30 manufacturers of artificial intelligence technologies around the world.”

First Edition, 2021

Abdulzaheradded: “In the year 2021 and in the first edition of the forum, we presented more detailed features of the concept of “seventh generation journalism,” and what the future of media and artificial intelligence looks like beyond “artificial intelligence journalism” and the development of advanced technology, which the world is talking about at the present time in 2024. The forum launched the first global award, the “Artificial Intelligence Journalism Award,” in 5 different categories.

Second Edition, 2022

The President of the AIJWF said that in the year 2022, the Forum presented for the first time in the world the concept of “Media of Metaverse” and how more interactive and more creative media content can be created within the world of the metaverse, and the evolution of the media industry with the fifth industrial revolution, and even how this world affects higher education and universities, with the wonderful experience within the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai, and in cooperation with UNESCO.

Third Edition, 2023

“In the third edition, 2023, the forum presented the concept of creative media cities based entirely on artificial intelligence, and how current traditional media cities can be transformed into cities managed automatically with artificial intelligence technologies,” said Dr. Mohamed Abdulzaher.

He added: “The forum launched The first award globally for creating Arabic content within the metaverse in 3 different categories. The Forum launched the results of the first global index for artificial intelligence journalism, “GAIJI Index,” by applying it to 70 global media outlets as well.”

Fourth Edition, 2024

In the current and fourth edition, in 2024, we are making an important announcement to all Arab governmental and media institutions: There is a “big gap” in the artificial intelligence industry and the Arabic language. We are studying how the Arabic language can adapt artificial intelligence in the most optimal ways.

In its current edition, the forum launched the first global award for creating artificial intelligence applications in the Arabic language in two different categories under the name of “AI Applications Award and Arabic Content (AIAC).”

Through the Artificial Intelligence Journalism World Forum, every year we provide insights into the future of media, anticipating new phenomena in the media industry and advanced technology.
